Jones License Plate Emblem Kit Now Available!
The Cooper Jones License Plate Emblem helps to raise awareness
in bicycle and pedestrian safety. The emblem was created in
commemoration of Cooper Jones, a young Spokane boy killed
by a motorist while participating in a bicycle race. Anyone
may purchase as many emblems as they wish. Emblem packets
can be purchased on-line for $25.00 using a credit card by
going directly to the Washington State Department of Printing's
General Store.
You will find the materials listed under "Traffic Safety
Commission". If you prefer, you can order an emblem packet
by sending a request for the Cooper Jones Emblem Kit along
with your check in the amount of $25.00 to: Department of
Printing, P O Box 798, Olympia WA 98507-0798.
The
Emblem Packet includes two Share the Road license plate emblems,
a bumper sticker, window cling and informational card. Emblems
are not restricted to license plates and may be placed on
other modes of transportation. However, if you choose to display
it on your vehicle license plate, it must be placed on the
bottom of the license plate as shown in the above example.
Money received from the sale of Cooper Jones License Plate
Emblems provides funding for bicycle and pedestrian awareness,
safety education, and enforcement. Funds generated from the
purchase of the emblem will be placed into a special safety
account to promote bicycle and pedestrian safety.
